Each part of a plant has an important function that helps the plant survive.
Roots
There are many different types of roots, just as there are many different types of plants. It is the roots duty to anchor and support the plant, keeping it upright in the soil. They also absorb water and nutrients from the soil or surroundings and store the products of photosynthesis.
Stem
The function of a plants stem is to protect its insides whilst also transporting the water and nutrients throughout the plant. Another main role of the stem is to hold the plant upwards towards the sun for photosynthesis to occur.

Leaves
The leaves are extremely important for photosynthesis. They capture light from the sun in which the plant transforms into sugar to grow.
Flowers
Flowers not only make wonderful decorations for plants, but also are extremely important for reproduction. The flower holds pollen and seeds which are needed for new plants to grow. They also attract pollinators, such as bees, to help the reproductive process or pollination occur.
